Monday,Apr 30 2007, 07:19:29 PM A Poem From My Heart
Love's Perfect Schemes
The decade has passed, two times and a quarter,
Since the night my voice did beg you listen.
Mold her of clay, prim and proper, yet shorter,
With raven hair her crown so as to glisten.
Blue eyes, with fire, to burn into my heart,
Generous proportions to her lips, fair, yet so true.
These things you possess, so from here you start,
Then add some timid, some kind, and virtuous too.
Her skin to be soft and warm as fine cashmere,
Not too shapely in turns, yet graceful in charms.
Grant me this paradise, dear Venus, to cheer,
Forever I will praise you as she graces my arms.
Alas, we mortals, will have sweet dreams,
Of our one true love's perfect schemes.
