What is this ? this place is changing everything in my life … I have been in many places since I joined my company (Saudi Aramco) …but shaybah was a different story.
Shaybah is located in the middle of the harshest ,biggest deserts in the world which is (Al-rub Al-khali) or the empty quarter which takes a big part of Saudi Arabia . Shaybah is not far from UAE, just about 70 kilos to the borders but there is no accessible road between the two countries .
I don’t hate the place that much , but the problem is that shaybah is taking my whole life .its been about 2 years since I first arrived to shaybah and now I can say that I'm socially dead. I have lost so many people, good friends and even cousins and relatives because I'm working there, because no one can understand how I work and what times I work and I admit it it's a little complicated. It's so complicated that only my mother understood how it works ..THAT is Disappointing !! but I get used to it a little bit anyway . sometimes I work at night and sometimes at day light with a very, VERY high temperatures There ..more than you can imagine !!I work no less than 12 hours a day and sometimes it reaches 15 hours for 7 continuous days ..but I take 3-4 days off after that . we have a very comfortable Residential complex there but we have to live with a roommate ..gush I hate that … I love to be more free in my room ,but anyway what can I do about it ? just Nothing !!
Shaybah has taken a lotta things from me ..it made feel more lonely ..sometimes sad …taken good people outta my life .. People that couldn't understand why I'm doing this ? why I have to be that away ? why don't you call us? Why don’t you visit or even ask ?
They don’t know that I have to do this because my family depends on me … and I cant call them or visit them because I have to work day and night or even stay and work overtime.. they don’t know that there are houndereds and houndereds of kilos between us …they don’t know that I need them to be on my side more than they need my help because they don’t know how it is to be away from your family .. they don’t know that it hurts …
