                   It may seem a little strange for a Buddhist to be sending out Christmas greetings but I strongly believe the “Goodwill to man” message of Christmas should be fostered, expanded and promoted throughout the entire year.

                   Christmas is a time for families and I encourage you to spend quality time with your family; tell them how much you love and appreciate them (this is something we all could do better). Christmas can be difficult for parents, especially mothers. Please, please help where you can and make this festive season a joyous one for all your family.

                   In the western world we have allowed self-gratification (in the form of sex, alcohol, drugs, material possessions, etc.) to over-shadow the really important things in life such as family, love and community. I encourage all my friends and acquaintances to spend some time helping others over the Christmas period – you may be surprised at the satisfaction you will feel.

                   I am about to pack up and move to Townsville, while it is only 3,000 km (1875 miles) as the ‘crow flies’ I plan to travel via my parent’s place in Melbourne, increasing the trip to over 8.500 km (5,300 miles). I probably will not be back ‘on-line’ until February – so don’t think I have forgotten you - it is just that Australia is a BIG (barren) country and takes a while to get around.

                   Have a safe and enjoyable Christmas and New Year, and a fantastic time in 2007.
