Biography:

Darren McDonald and Gerrie Malla are both professional musicians who have been in the scene for many years. They have individually performed with big Australian and overseas acts. They have been writing together for the last 10 years. They're songs are energetic, funky with strong killer hooks. Darren has written and produced album tracks for various Australian artists and has won an Aria award for best new dance track in 1998 as well as the APRA songwriting competition with an Australian dance artist BJ for the track 'Diamond'. Gerrie has been a backing vocalist for Australian and international artists. She is also a session singer who has toured and recorded backing vocals for signed Aussie artists. Gerrie was the featured vocalist on the track 'Real Love' by Soul System, a funky bass-driven house anthem which hit top 10 on the club charts in Australia and featured on many compilations including the hugely successful Hed Kandi World Series Volume 1 and on 'Feels So Good' by Soul System, Hed Kandi World Series Volume 3 one of the surprise hits of the 2005 Ibiza season. She toured extensively with Soul System throughout Asia and Australia in 2006. Lava's track 'I'm not the woman' was finalist in the USA songwriting competition 2005 in the Dance/Electronica category and just recently semi finalist in the International Songwriting Competition 2006 for the same track.
