Carlos is the most charming guy I have ever talked too. He has a way with words and he just makes you feel very special.
I remember the first time I talked to him. It was on a thread that I made and he replied. I was nervous to reply back because I have seen him in previous threads and he seemed to be intimidating, but I was wrong. Turns out that Carlos is one very caring guy.

Work isn't bad. I like dealing with people. Work and school is hard, but i have many motivations for why i need to do both, and do them well. Then there's my businesses, and i have to alwas pay attention to them. Turning 20 was a huge deal for me because it was a very sobering experience. Life flies past wheteher you're doing something or nothing. In a few years, I'd like to be married. I'd like to be financially independent. I'd like to have the freedom to do what i want to do in life.
The real important things are that time never comes back and whatever i do now will affectthe rest of my life, and my little brother. He's 8 years old and he really looks up to me more than my older brother. We try to teach him the best we can, because he's growing up into a dangerous world. It's easy to lose an innocent child to the evils of this world. My job, is to keep him on the straight and narrow. I remember there was a kid in his school that was stalking about marijuana andhow he wanted to smoke it in school. Gladly he knew that drugs are wrong and he didn't give in to it. A few days later me and my bro made some cash after printing some t shirts andwe called my lil bro into our room. We put about $1300 in his hand, knowing he'd never held more than a twenty in his hand in his whole life. We told him " Know how me made this money? honest business. No drugs, no stealing, no scamming. We worked hard, and this is ours. We don't have to hide that from anyone,and we don't have to worry about going to jail. There are too many ways to make an honest dollar in this world, to ever have to resort to crime."
I come home tired, i wake up not wanting to go to work, or class, or handle business, but i have to keep going. even when i'm drained i can't afford to give up. There's someone watching, and I can't let him down. He's more important to me than myself. I want him to have someone he can look up to, and be proud of so i keep on going. I keep pushing myself even though i feel like i want to snap sometimes, but then i have to center myself and let the stress pass over me. There's work to do and money to be made.

I was on campus earlier, just got home like an hour ago. I was hanging out with some friends late and somehow the topic of fighting came up. People who went to the same high school as i did were saying that 'yea, Carlos is a good fighter etc. etc.' 'Carlos used to fight a lot back in CIC {my old high school}' and a guy i met recently, can't really call him a friend now decided 'hey why not fight Carlos?'
He just kept goading me and decided that if he challenged me and beat me maybe he'd be king of the hill or something, but fighting's a thing of the past for me. I haven't fought in years, because i only do it if i need to these days. Tonight was a different story.
So me and Steve start fighting on some pavement and everybody else was watching. Most people knew I was gonna win already, but that's not the point. I just wanted to shut him up. Eventually we were on the ground and his head smacked the pavement and his face got all busted up and he started bleeding and shit. He stopped trying after he realised how people were looking at him. So now Steve's face is all bleeding and i just have some small cuts on my hand. His pride is still there as he maintains 'i woulda won' but everyone saw otherwise. The guy looked like Rocky Balboa after the 5th round. I walked off and started to chill with another friend of mine, Milton.
Milton's a really good fighter, but both he and I are at the level of respect with each other that we don't have to fight to see who's better. We talked for a while and then everyone decided to leave cuz it was getting pretty late. I talked to Steve before I left and i was already feeling uncomfortable. He told me it wasn't my fault but how could I hear that after i busted his face open? The blood's still on his face, his nose is bleeding, the top of his nose is scratched, not the mention a bleeding black eye. I'm far from proud of it.
When I got home, i was talking to a friend about it. I was already feeling bad, but she pointed out how STUPID it really was. I didn't have to fight Steve, and she was right. I couldn't disagree on any level. Hearing it from a woman really sobers you up and I'm thinking to myself 'Carlos, you jackass'. Imagine if I had a gf. She woulda let me have it after seeing my bruised and bleeding hand. And I would have felt even worse because I woulda diappointed someone else. Yea, I need a gf. Maybe that would help kick out the unecessary machismo in my system cuz it's not doing anyone any good right now. The search continues, but the trick is finding someone worth it. Notice i didn't say 'someone worth fighting for'

Just last week, i was able to reopen my business. My previous internet company had closed down and i use the internet a lot with my business to interact with clients and stuff, so i had to close down for about 3 months. It was hard on me personally because I dipped my hand down into empty pockets for some time. Yea, i live at home so i can survive and stuff, but i felt helpless because my creation was useless. I go to school and a lot of my clients who are students on campus too always used to ask me to do some work for them ( it was only graphic design and artwork back then, and with a heavy heart, i had to turn them away. It hurt the whole time because i was losing customers the whole time.
3 months later and here i am, reopened, and I expanded the business into ther avenues as well. It's busy as hell right now because parties need posters designed, t shirts printed, invites designed, promotional people, and it's usually like this at this time of year. it's Carnival season. So far i've managed to squeeze back into the market, but just barely with t shirts and stuff.
As with any business, you need to reinvest. I haven't touched any money from it, cuz i have a LOT more to do. Sacrifices have to be made, you know? I do some work part time with an interior decorator doing the heavy stuff along with my bro, to help get some extra cash in. He suggested we go eat before work tonight, but i was broke. I just went crashed. I had a whole day of class today, it was late, i could feel hunger coming on, and he was looking at me with the look that said "i'm not paying for it". it just broke me down. I'm the person that would spend their last dollar to make sure we could eat. One piece of bread, I must share, you know? I just felt insulted, frustrated and i wanted to cry. That's not what made me that upset. it was the fact that being broke brings on an immense pain. When you have nothing. I've spent a lot of my life looking at people have things i could never have, because i could never afford it. all i could say to my brother silently was "what do you think i'm trying to do?" as i fought to hold tears back. the t shirt business is run by the two of us, but I have to do all the running around in the hot sun, all the negotiations with people, organising contingency plans for shipment, i'm TRYING to make something out of it, and your being like that with me makes me feel like LESS!! I'm TRYING not to be broke!!! I'm trying to make some money!! I'm trying to do something that I can be proud of, and you shoot me down like this?!?!?! Not to mention the fact that he was feeling hungry on the way to work, and I gave him my last apple. I would deny you nothing.
I couldn't focus at the job. I was working slow, but eventually i got back my composure.......the pain of being in the dirt and doing without is too much. I never want to live like that again. I want to do better. Ideas rushed into my head for new ways to make money because I CANNOT CONTINUE TO BE AT THE BOTTOM. I'M SICK OF IT!!!! I know I can do it. I have faith in God, and myself. It's just a long road to teh finish, you know?

I applaud your cooking talent =) I love grilling, and when i cook iusually let my imagination do the work but it follows along certain things i learned cuz i worked in restaurants for the past two years. one year in a Benihana and the other in a Fine dining mother fucker :P
