A long time has now passed
And so the tale can be told
About a woman 39 years on this earth
Albeit her siren face didnt seem so old

When was the last time
When was the first
When she spoke openly
When she last cursed

Oh to be there that day
Only the rarest of times
Ought to be acknowledged
Otherwise ignore her jibes

Many are the times
Many the plaintive speeches
Many were hooked by her lies
Many who felt the urge to protect

All were trapped for a year or so
Acid tongue and venom secretions drove them out
And every one of them then had to go
Another illusion ended with a fearful shout

No more should take heed to the siren
No more lovers to scorn and deride
No time like the present
No place better to decide

A
Bee
Chased
Damselflies
Evacuating the
Flowering shrubs in
Gardens near its hive
Honey is so hard to make
If the nectar has all gone
Just imagine how this world
Keen as it is for pollenization
Looks forward with some concern
Many having read of bee populations
Now so afflicted by some dread disease
Oh to live back in the days of yore when humanity
Played less with all this industry and held nature dear
Questions arise within my head almost every day as to how
Rough we may leave this world for our children and theirs too
So many worries affect us if we read all that is slipping from our grip
Take some part in one thing or another, the power of preservation is with you
Undertake just one good deed and keep the future of that enterprise ever true
Valediction may well come for me long before calamitous predictions can come or not
Will I continue to ponder upon all of this when I have been lowered down into my own plot
X-ray vision I would then need to keep up to date on the climate news though the rain drips in
Yelling out in cold ghostly tones to any passing folk if I ever have that last one stupendous thought
Zealous as I will remain about the future of those I know even after passing from their ever loving sight

Love Passes

Love passes joy from one to another
Over and over from daughter to mother
Valentines declare the state of their heart
Each raining kisses whenever they part

Pass some love each time that you can
All need some loving be they woman or man
Send some warmth to lift their days
See the real depths shine within their gaze
Ease their daily loads with a winning smile
Show all the world life can be less of a trial...

Coming around the damp corner he spotted her as the flickering
Orange glow from the street lamp glistened on her red plastic coat
Leaning back against it's post with one leg bent as her left foot
Dragged back until just the points of her toes contacted the
Cold wet concrete which pulsated with the dual vibrations
Of heavy rain drops and the tremulous death rattle of the lamp
Putting aside those distracting thoughts he sauntered over and spoke
'Up for it darling are you - fancy a walk round the back here'
'Love to oblige you handsome' spoke red coat as she took his arm
And allowed him to steer her until they reached a dark loading dock where
The overhanging canopy afforded shelter and deep shadow exactly
In line with their intended actions - his to exchange cash for favours
Oddly hers included receipt of funds amidst further plans - 'All over
Now are you darling' she asked feeling his torso judder - 'I'll have my knife back
Then' - wiping the blade fastidiously on his smart brown coat lapels
As he slumped to his knees gazing wide mouthed up to her she cradled his chin
Lovelessly and let his dimming ears absorb their last words - 'Cold tonight innit'
Effortlessly his eyelids closed for the last time as she strolled jauntily back to her lamp.
