My professor asked me to report my progress of the research project to him this Friday, whilst my progress is almost zero percent...... I really don't know what to report to him...... I really want to tell him directly that I am already fully occupied by my studying and so I won��t have much time to spend on the project... But I really don't want to make him disappointed, so what can I do?!

這刻，我的心情很沉重......

水造的我一向易哭，但我從來也沒有因為擔心自己的學業而哭。唯一一次為有關學業的事而哭，就是看到自己強差人意的高考成績單而哭。今天，我第一次為擔心我的Biochem而哭了。

每次上完Biochem lecture，都會有一種莫名奇妙的失落感。面對著一大堆的notes and powerpoint slides，真的一籌莫展。今日上完Biochem lecture，步出Moos Tower，猛烈的陽光照到我的臉上，刮起強風，彷彿把我的靈魂也吹走了。

自問一向自己熱愛讀書，就算ALevel有好多野背，我都讀得很開心。我第一次問自己，究竟我係唔係唔適合讀呢一科？究竟我有無揀錯？

一步一生，道出了我的心聲。

曾經期望著我　前程和戀愛　甚麼都擁有

Nothing special today, and studied whole day at Starbucks with Ber and Priscilla. I found that Biochemistry is really interesting, though it is so tough. I like this kind of life so much!

Although I was really tired, I still went to my research lab to prepare things for my project. I talked with a Chemistry Master there, and I discussed with him something about my project. He was surprised to read my proposal, and said that it is not really suitable for an undergraduate, as he thought it is really "some HARDCORE stuffs". He said it would be too early for me to deal with this project, as it requires a lot of knowledge about heterocyclic chemistry. He also warned me that my products will be explosive!! I am so worried about that......

Went to fellowship tonight. We discussed about Creationism and Science. Of course, I am a pro-science person and I tried to refute some points raised in the creationism video...... Am I really too narrow-minded to accept God? Honestly, I do believe in the existence of God, but I just don't like the message of the video. Please don't refer any phenomenon that cannot be explained by our current scientific knowledge to God.

Worried about your studying... When will you start your studying seriously?! Take care please.

Combining my effort of last night till 5am...

Combining my effort of last night till 5am and this afternoon, I eventually finished my basic studying and memorization about the properties of the 20 standard L-amino acids. Thanks Ber for asking me to go to Starbucks to study, otherwise I will not be able to resist the temptation of Winning, xanga, ICQ, e-mail checking etc. HAHA~ I have to be determined!!!

The highlight of today was to have Korean BBQ dinner at Peggy's apartment with Peggy (of course...), Sharon, Nicky, Bernice, Rodney and Aaron! It was so warm and I ate a lot >< Fat die la me!!! haha~ The atmosphere was really warm and happy, and it really gave me a break and relax amid of my tough studying and pressure.

So bad that I lost in “kum 綿胎”, so that I was punished to wash tons of dirty oily dishes... ><

Lizzy: NEVER say *NEVER, both positively and negatively, as we all don't know how our lives would go on tomorrow. Sorry, I do not mean to distrust you or whatever, but u know, I am no longer a believer in "forever" or "never" anymore.

但係Biochem就奶哂野囉。We have to memorize a lot of facts, and this week my focus is on reciting the properties of the 20 different L-amino acids in our bodies. We are required to memorize their names, their 3-letter abbreviations and 1 alphabet abbreviations, their pK_R values, their residue masses, their polar groups, and their structural formulae... GOSH...... Upcoming topics are electrophoresis and mass spectrometry. I really don't know how to handle this class.

Thanks Daisy for your encouraging word. Though no one knows better about my current situation than myself. I am really worried about this class.

這是陰晴不定的一天。早上起來時，傾盤大雨。上完第一堂，雨停了，但刮起強風。中午時間，突然放晴。下午時候，烏雲密佈，而且有點兒涼，風勢能夠媲美八號風球。有些人就像天氣一樣，反覆無常，話變就變。

經過多次的交涉，終於可以上返網。BONUS: I CAN SEND FILES THROUGH ICQ ONLY!!!! 對很多人而言，上網絕對是一件take it for granted既事，double click 個 Internet explorer 就可以。但經過尋晚之後，我突然感到可以上網絕對是...一種恩賜。

畢竟有很多事，失去了才會懂得珍惜，是嗎？可是妳永遠也不會覺得失去我是一種遺憾.....

Another 4-lecture day. Everything was going fine for my classes, except for my Biochemistry class. It was a 65 minutes lecture. Surprisingly, the professor went through 60 powerpoint slides within 65 minutes... He jsut read all the text on the powerpoint without elucidating the concepts. Gosh! The materials are really HARD!! I am sure it is the hardest clss I have ever taken in my life. So, is this a self-study class?! Or Should I ask if this is the style of 4 thousand level classes? I am so afriad of getting bad results in this class...

I am in the computer Lab of my Hall now. FOR UNKNOWN REASONS, my internet is disconnected and the network said that my computer have something called dhcp_2 scanning problem. I waited on the hotline for almost 3 hours but no one answered my call, but they said their working hour is till 11pm... DAMN!!!!!!!! The network is really troublesome this year! No p2p, no icq transferring files, no webcam, no netfone... I am sure I won't live in the Hall next year!!!

Hope I can online as soon as possible......

Today is quite normal and I only got one class, which is the Mathematics Lab class. Mathematica is really powerful, and I learn how to plot 3D curves with it, the curves plotted are really marvelous! haha~

Nothing special today... Just stayed in my room for the whole day, facing the computer to play some games, and the most important was to do my studying.

After start reading the Biochemistry textbook, I found out that it is really not easy, and somehow it requires a lot of memorization. But I started to find out that I am quite interested in that.

Spent over 2 hours on the 2-pts extra credit problem. Gosh, just 2 points, but it is really hard. Need to use the CD-rom in the book and to calculate the distance of the major groove of the double helix structure of the DNA using co-geom.

So, it was the first Monday of school and there were many things happened today......

It was quite good in the morning. The animal physiology class was quite easy and concepts about osmotic pressure were covered. There will be Nerst Equation next lesson!

The physical chemistry class was even easier. Basically, it just covered all AL Physics about Photoelectric Effect and some simple calculations...

Then the disastrous event came...

For no reason, I always supposed the next class would be 0335pm. So, I went to take a nap after having lunchy. Suddenly, I thought it was weird that the class was so late... SHOOOT! 0335pm was actually the time for the class to END!!! At once, I got out of the bed and found out that the time was 0250pm already, and the class has started for more than 10 minutes. The reason that I have to be punctual in today's class was that we had to hand in an assignment before the class started, otherwise, as stated in the syllabus, that ALL ASSIGNMENTS HANDED IN AFTER THE CLASS STARTS WILL NOT BE GRADED.

After the class, I went to the professor and pretended to ask him questions about the assignments, of which I thought throughout the entire lesson. HAHA!!! He collected mine as he really thought I had questions to ask him!!! So lucky.....

So surprised to know that the TA of my physical chem class comes from HONG KONG too!!! His English really sucks, and he asked me to translate for him by telling me in Cantonese lor......... DUH........

I finished the registration in the Dr. Noland's Chemistry Lab today, and I am officially a researcher of the school! haha~ Sounds quite professional, huh? I got a key that allows me to get into the chemistry building 24 hours 7 days! And so far, the greatest benefit of working in the lab is that there is a laser printer so that I can print out my lecture notes!!! It saves me a lot of money!! 正呀!

話說今日係church一年一度的迎新旅行，氣氛尚算可以啦。記得在去年的迎新旅行，我當時很掛住你，然後看到在相機裏相中的你，我泣不成聲，躲在一旁飲泣...... 算了吧......

好高興有機會接觸大自然，呼吸自由的空氣。經過一星期緊張的生活，終於可以靜一靜下來。當然，在這裡也有些污濁得很的空氣，要經過淨化才可吸入。同樣也不可以隨便呼出一口氣，否則後果堪虞。

講返今日，好開心有得踢波呀！扭波扭過人的感覺多好！可以擺脫一件事的感覺更好！

在這個險惡的世界裡，可以找到知心的朋友，暢所欲言，是一件很難得的事。

I had several nightmares last night.....

This was what happened in the most unforgettable one...

I met an old lady on the street. At first she was so nice and I dunno why we would have meals together... Then she suddenly told me that she was sent from the Hell and she was responsible to tell me that I cannot go through 2005 and that I would die within that year... And dunno why I would believe in her... I was so paranoid and I sweated a lot...

The reason that my school is called University of Minnesota - Twin Cities is because my school is located throughout the Twin Cities area. As suggested by its name, the place includes two cities, which are Minneapolis and St. Paul. Basically, the campus is so large that it nearly has the size of the Kowloon Peninsula.

It was my first time to attend class at the St. Paul campus. I had to take a 30 minutes bus ride from Minneapolis to St. Paul. Today's first session was a 3-hour lab for my Biol 2005 Animal Diversity Lab. Although it only carries ONE single credit, it is absolutely not an easy lab. In this class, we have to learn about the taxonomy of the creatures. There will be TONS OF GREEK WORDS to memorize, e.g. Cnidaria, Platyhelminthes, Euglenozoa... WHAT DA HECK...... And there will be 3 practical exams, and we will do dissection of animals!! OH MY GOD... BLOOD ar..........

Although it is a 15-credit semester, the combination of these all five cryptic and insane classes makes me feel that it is a 25-credit semester... Plus, there will be a research project for me to do... GOSH... Sleep less, Sick more. Or, Sleep more, GPA dived.

ok, continue with my studying now...

Sent an email to the Residential Network department to complain about the p2p problem, and they replied that it will just be disabled during the first few weeks of the semester... let's see!!!

今日終於開學了......

其實今日得一堂，係Math discussion, from 0230 to 0320。今個sem 我take既係Calculus4 - Multivariable Calculus and Vector Analysis, 本來以為同以前d Cal Discussion差唔多，做下worksheets咁，點知原來要起computer lab到上堂。Professor 話明成個course 都要用Mathematica.... 嘩！Miss Luk以前經常提及的Mathematica呀！都幾麻煩囉...... 更加救命的是，d電腦既OS係用Linux... 似乎係上電腦堂多過上數學堂...... Peter must be sooooo envious of me!! haha~
