Well, today the girls had fun coloring. We were reading If you give a Mouse a cookie
and came to the page with crayons on it and they were trying to pick
them up, so I asked them if they wanted to color and they said yes.
They had fun coloring on paper. Then we went outside and finger
painted. They really had fun with the finger paint. They were having
so much fun that they started to paint on themselves. Then they
desided that they need to draw with chalk. After awhile they were
off to play in the dirt. They enjoyed their time outside which was good
since it has been so hot and later tonight it is suppose to rain. I am
trying to get some pics uploaded sorry that we have not been doing so
lately. We actually did not take very many for the month of June. We
are such bad parents
. Hope that everyone has been having a good week so far.

Or should I say trying to stay cool. The heat index was up to 114
yesterday. The girls and I have been staying inside as much as we can.
If we do go out to play it is first thing in the morning when it is
cooler. Saturday I read about 20 books to the girls. One after the
other. They keep on saying more, more when I would get done with one
stack. Elizabeth has been keeping me busy with going to the toilet. I
think she just likes to put a star up. There are times that she will go
potty and then 5 mins later she wants to go again and she actually
will. Not much else going on around here. Clint is on his last week of
medicine and then he moves to ER.
Friday,Jul 22 2005, 09:52:10 PMHaving fun
Well, I will try to post a little something about what the girls have
done today. I bought them each a shovel and a bucket so that they can
play in the dirt. They had quite the time this morning. I got some pics
and will try to get them up soon. We also went to playgroup again
today. They had it inside of another church due to the heat. This place
was strange to be in a church. They had a mini food court and an indoor
play area with a ball pit for those 4 and under and other equipment for
children ages 10 and under to play on. They also had at least one if
not two air hockey tables and a few arcade games. It was a little
nerve racking due to all the older children running around with my two
and the other small children that were there. Elizabeth enjoyed the
ball pit. The only problem was that the kids(nor some of the parents)
did not obey the sign that said 4 and under in the ball pit. The kids
were throwing the balls hard at each other. Elizabeth got it twice in
the head but it did not seem to bother her. The other ladies and I in
the play group spoke up and one of them even got managment. Some
of the kids (even ones that were suppose to be in the pit) were jumping
in making me nervous that Elizabeth was going to get it. Heidi was not
sure of the pit and actually started to cry when I put her in. She
stayed by me for a while until she saw some seats that you could bounce
on. She ended up spending most of her time there and I had to have her
share that seat with her sister and then also find something else for
her to play with so that other children could bounce. There were
at least two other seats so that was good but I thought it would be
wrong to have her hog one the whole time. They really did not
want to leave and I actually had to coax them to leave by having them
think it would be fun to leave with one of the boys that was in the
play-group. Then they saw the playground outside and it was another bit
of coaxing to get them into the van.
Some of you have been asking about Elizabeth and her potty training.
Well, I am having problems with just letting her run around in training
underware after she got up in my bed, which she is not to do, and wet
my bed. Sure some of you are saying sure blame the kid but she did. I
bought star stickers for the girls to put up on a board each time they
successfully use the toilet. I hope that this will help motivate
Elizabeth and then we can see about the training paints again.
Well, I most go and tend to my child that just hit herself in the head.
I will try to write more later.
Wednesday,Jul 13 2005, 02:10:37 AMAlmost ruined
Today was the perfect call day, but it almost turned terrible. I
had 2 admits and was winding down and getting ready to leave when I get
a call about a patient having a heart attack in the ER.
Fortunately for me, the other intern was up so she got the
patient. My first patient was a transfer from the critical care
unit and will bouce to another team tomorrow. That is the best
type of admission to get: no H&p, CCU writes transfer note
and orders, I just write an accept note, and another intern gets them
in the morning. It counts towards my cap, but doesn't create
work. My other admit has renal stones. I got 0 calls on
cross cover and managed to watch all of Conan the Destroyer and a bit
of Sonja the Red. All that and I walked out of the hospital at
8:45. The earliest it is possible to leave is 8:30.
