Wow, I can't believe that Christmas 2006 came so fast. It seems that we just celebrated Christmas 2005. The kids had a great Christmas, although the week leading up to Christmas and the two days after Christmas were not so good. Elizabeth had her 1st eye appointment to check to make sure there is no inflamation in her eyes. She did very well for the appointment and she passed with flying colors so now we will go back in a few months to have them checked again unless she shows any signs of eye sensitivity to light before then. Timothy woke up with a fever the same day. That was fun trying to take all three kids to the eye doctor with one of them running 103.7 temp. He ran a fever for two days and then his temp was normal. He is still congested which is no fun. I did not get much sleep Christmas Eve due to the fact that he was having problems sleeping at Nana and Papa's. Then Tuesday Heidi woke up with a fever and Elizabeth was running a low grade fever as well. So I did not get much sleep last night since they did not feel good and Heidi's fever spiked again during the night and was about 104. Praise God her fever has finally broken with medication and she is feeling much better. It is nice to see her playing again and not just wanting me to hold her. I knew she was feeling bad yesterday when she was wanting be to carry her in the sling. Well, I am faced with things that have been stacking up since everyone has been sick. I don't know when I am ever going to get caught up on the laundry and the house work. Although, we were able to get the book shelves from my parents put together and we got all of the boxes of books finally put away and the boxes out of the house. I will try to post some pics from Christmas when I have more time. Must get things done while I still have a few more quiet minutes.

Well, Elizabeth went back to the rheumatologist on Monday and he went ahead and diagnosed her with JRA (juvenile rheumatoid arithritis). He said that we will be getting to know one another as Elizabeth gets older. He said it will be fun to watch the girls turn into teenagers. So we are in for the long haul with Elizabeth. At this point he thinks that she just has one joint affected which is the better type to have. We will just have to wait and see if any other joints are being affected. He has seen kids come in with one joint affected and then more become affected and he has seen those that just always have the one joint affected. Clint and I are praying that she only has the one joint. Kids that just have fewer than four joints affected have what is called pauciarticular onset JRA. Clint and I think this is what she may have. The doctor did blood work to see how things looked. They said that her blood contains a protein known as antinuclear antibody(ANA). This means that she is at a higher risk of developing chronic eye inflamation (uveitis). So she needs to have eye exams regularly. Her rheumatologist wants her to have eye exams about 3 times a year unless the eye doctor says that she needs them more often. So we now go to the pediatric eye doctor on Wednesday and back to the rheumatologist in March. Please keep her in your prayers since she is not really big on going to the doctor. She is always afraid that they are going to give her a shot. She does really well with taking the medicationl, but who wouldn't since she gets a spoonful of chocolate syrup. Heidi also gets a spoonful of chocolate but no medicine. I guess when Timothy gets older he will be added to the line of spoons of chocolate. I will try to update more later. I need to get things done around here since not much got done yesterday. Thanks for all of your prayers for Elizabeth so far.
