I don't really like JC life... I can't believe it, VJC has been my first choice ever since I started considering which one to get into. Yet, I'm not fully enjoying myself over here.

I don't fit in well into my class, 05S62. Sure, I can do pretty well in the subjects, and probably get 3 S-papers if I wanted to. But then what's the freaking point of coming to VJ? I planned to enjoy myself here, but then so far I haven't found much joy in the school, except maybe when I'm training. Yeah, and during orientation. Otherwise I'm a damn moody person. I can't believe it either. I've never been such a sad case since I was born. Sometimes I can shut my mouth up for a whole hour, which was previously impossible.

I'm thinking of changing class after the O level results come out (late Feb). I'm planning to give physics the boot (though I really like Mr Lee, and I'm his physics rep somemore) and take history instead. That would make me an arts student, which is partly why my parents are kind of objecting to my plan. I don't care lah, I'm kind of decided on it already. Anyway, that would mean I take the same combi as Qian Wei, my HCL classmate, so I'd probably be thrown into 05A51, which is a class with only 2 guys. WTF. It would be really, really weird... I'll have to see.

Anyway, Chinese New Year's around the corner. I'm looking forward to it, because it would be a pretty long break. JC life is damn busy and tiring. When there's vball training, I reach home earliest at 9pm, leaving me hardly any time to do my tutorials or revise, unless I intend to sleep at midnight, and I don't. I thoroughly appreciated Hari Raya Haji last friday. I got a good rest, and finally loaded a CD into my drive. On school days I don't get the time to play any games. That day I got glued to RTW the whole day. I anticipate some gaming during CNY too. =P

And I'm looking forward to a big angpow this year. Last year I got a thousand-dollar angpow from David, my dad's acquaintance at work. It was so damned generous of him, and I got a better PC last March thanks to him. My system (this one) cost S$2937, and I could only get it because of that huge angpow. I imagine I wouldn't get a same one again this year, but hopefully I could get a bit more. After all, they say that Singapore's achieving good economic growth...

I could do with some extra money. I kind of "returned" my part-time wages from last December to pay off for RTW (which I got from Tampines Challenger straight after the chem paper) and my Kingston Datatraveler (a USB thumbdrive).

Wishlist for the year of the Rooster:

1) The Land Before Time VCDs. The first episode was launched in 1988, the year I was born. =S It was damned touching, and the whole series is about how a bunch of dino kids make friends. I loved it a lot because it focused a lot on the preciousness of friendship and kinship. I saw it at Popular a week ago, and over the years there's already Land Before Time VIII!! Holy crap, I sure missed a lot. I only watched till III, and I can't really remember what it was about. Those VCDs are definitely top on my wishlist. They're quite ex though, because each one costs 9 bucks... That's about 70 bucks in all for the whole set.

2) NOMAD MuVo V200 (512MB) by Creative. It's currently priced at close to 200 bucks, so yeah, it's pretty dear. I really want to be able to listen to my mp3s on the way home or when I'm bored. Having an mp3 player would be pretty cool anyway.

3) Corsair Voyager. Damn it, I shouldn't have rushed to get the Kingston Datatraveler. Corsair has a slightly better name in the market. Also, it's my OG's name. =P The main attractiveness is its brand. Corsair is so damn reliable, it's the only brand that dares to offer a 10 year warranty! My Kingston one has 5 years, but it's nothing compared to Corsair's. Also, the Voyager has a much cooler design than the plain Datatraveler. Sigh, never mind. It's not really necessary, since I already have the Datatraveler.

4) PC upgrades!! My PC's almost a year old now (yay?) and I realised how quickly things get outdated. When I bought my system last spring, the latest and most expensive graphics card out there was the Radeon 9800XT. Over the past year, I've been keeping track of the hardware market, and witnessed many huge improvements. The latest card now is the X850XT, and nVidia's pretty competitive too, as it has the GeForce 6800, which is SLI compatible (that means dual graphics processor capability). My Radeon 9600XT looks pathetic now, and I can't run RTW at highest quality. I wouldn't mind getting the GeForce 6600GT APG version. It's (as I said so many times in the RTWH tech forum) the best card for its value. Cheap though it may be, it still costs a hefty S$300-400, not a sum that a student readily has.

Other than the above four, I have no other wishes. I'm such a simple guy huh. I don't even want a handphone, WTF.

*edit* I just remembered something else I want. I want a 优客李林 album. In case you youngsters who listen only to 5566 and Jay are wondering, it's a two-man group that has come up with some really great songs (albeit a little old). I saw it at Suntec Tower Records last time, so I'm wondering if it's still there... Got to pray that they still have it. I know that HMV and some other music stores don't have it, I checked.

Hell, nobody's going to see this (Zorpia is just like Yassir Arafat- half dead) but I'm so bored I just want to type some stuff. Everybody's pia-ing away, though for what I just can't imagine.

Basically the subjects that need mugging are over: Chinese and SS, and you're not supposed to have to study the former, btw. =/ It just puts me off seeing everyone mugging like they're stupid. Come on man, DHS is supposed to be full of bright students, and bright students don't need to mug to get their A1s. That's why I'm beginning to doubt the quality of DHS's ...

Long time never post a journal. Looks like quite a lot of people abandon Zorpia already. So fast?...

Anyhow, so fast, it's the June hols. Before we know it, it's goodbye Dunman High. Better make the most out of this holidays to play AND study, though the ratio so far is probably 10:1. But then, doing revision papers should serve their purpose right- to revise. Basically I'm all ready to go for O level maths liao.
