Narcissus love

-By Ahmad salim reza

The moon was just stunned after seeing you

The way `echo’* was stunned. The sleeping

Ocean has roared with high tide to go on,

Its saline water embraced the sweet water of rivers,

The tide kissing each other smiled for

The rivers with a divine rhythm.

All flowers smiling at the glittering moon

Birds sing in chorus, butterflies dancing on the flowers,

And you… carelessly moving like narcissus

Over the isle of mastered-fields with garland on your hair.

I’m not the moon, but human sculpture curved out of mud

And you? Oh! My nymph

Just having a snap of you

My soul yields a profound thrust like a vacated field.

Oh narcissus! Stay here; don’t rush to the water,

Nor even put your eyes on the mirror;

Just conceive this utopian world with a human sight.

Let love plays love around your adorable arms.

But you even do not care when

The fire of thirst and pain grills my heart

The flame of love doomed troy, you know

Even a comet can explode by the curse of heart, alas!

You have never noticed the epitaph (of my love).

Amongst the galaxy of stars, you are searching out

Your love star, walking clumsily along the axis of earth.

Oh narcissus! How fumy is the universal curse of love itself.

needs protection and patriotism

A country needs protection and patriotism

We are much privileged to view ‘TREETIO MATRA’ an open discussions in the Channel i. Prof. Abdul Mannan, ex MP, Awami League and Mr. Nazir Hussain, ex MP, BNP were invited for the valuable discussions on 21st May;2007. With due respect and confidence on the caretaker government, Prof. Abdul Mannan urged them to give priority to the people and save them by providing basic needs like plain rice, electricity, fair price of all necessary commodities, reforms in all institutions and eradicate corruptions from the country.

In your brief summary at the end, we carefully noticed you to place the question no.1 before them. We fully endorse your views and would like to add two more for clarification.

Ø      1. With all corruptions and misuse of power by the senior Ministers and others of the earlier government, how the political parties will justify to contest in the election? Do they have any credibility to serve the nation?

Ø      2. Being the Head of the cabinet, why the ex Prime Minister had played the role as a silent spectator? What weakness she had with her cabinet Ministers and others that made them possible to make rampant looting of the national wealth?

Ø      3. Why the word ‘accountability’ was totally absent?

Our country is passing through a serious crisis and in connection to this, I would like to appeal to the people and specially the business community to extend their full cooperation and join hands with the present caretaker government to bring down the prices of necessary commodities. At the same time we want to convey our messages to Mr. Fakhruddin Ahmed and his small council of advisors that “having a nuclear weapon is not the yard stick to measure the strength of the country”. It’s people, who are the strength of your government. We must not ignore them. Please save them first as they are always beside you with high expectations. With your good governance, you must give bare necessities of life, like good food, Sanitations, electricity, pure drinking water, security, education and justice by all means.

I would like to conclude by appreciating Mr. Zillur Rahman for the contribution you have made for the welfare of the country through this media. Hope, you will arrange to review the relevant portion of the ‘EPISODE’.

Thanking you in advance for your selection of this letter.

With best regards!

Abdul Halim
