From the beginning, God pointed to His Son's death on Calvary's cross, to pay for the sin of all who would believe! Animals were sacrificed to provide the skins that Adam and Eve wore when they were banished from the Garden of Eden for sin. Throughout Old Testament history animals were sacrificed on various altars, in diverse places, for the forgiveness of PAST sin. The shedding of blood went on & on & on.. "And almost all things are by the Law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission." (Hebrews 9: 22) THEN in the fullness of time, Christ was born of a virgin, fathered by God, to live a sinless life and be the FINAL payment for sin: PAST, PRESENT, FUTURE......! He was God, robed in flesh; " the Lamb slain before the foundation of the world" (Revelation 5:6)...... Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth, and the life, no man cometh onto the Father, but by me. " (John 14:6)......... He also said, "I am the DOOR.........!" (John 10: 7)...... Christ is the DOOR to Eternal Life...... Christ is the DOOR to Forgiveness of Sin...... Christ is the DOOR to Heaven!!! The KEY to that DOOR is simple, child-like FAITH (or trust)...... scripture tells us "we are saved by grace through FAITH, not works" (Ephesians 2: 8)...... GOD's MESSAGE from Calvary stands true today, if you will take your faith (KEY) and TURN to God by asking JESUS CHRIST to save you...... the DOOR swings wide open and the Savior welcomes you to the family of God ...!!! Your name is sealed in the " Book of Life." ..... a place is prepared for you in Heaven...... your sin debt has been paid in full by the blood of Jesus Christ, the living Son of God...... that's the GOSPEL...! The GOOD NEWS that was shouted from Calvary's cross and proclaimed when the stone was rolled away from the tomb and it was empty......!! ......... NOW......... Do you believe that Jesus Christ was God who died for your sin, and rose to life the third day to give you victory over death?...... Because of your sin do you need forgiveness?...... Then won't you pray this prayer by faith?? Dear Jesus, I accept your gift of salvation. I turn to You by faith and ask You to come into my heart & life and save me from sin's penalty & power. Thank You for saving me and making me a child of God!......... Amen.
