Euthanasia – Should it be legalized???
Euthanasia – Should it be legalized???
Euthanasia-also called mercy killing. The act of putting to death painlessly or allowing to die, as by withholding extreme medical measures, a person or animal suffering from an incurable, esp. a painful, disease or condition.

Thank you :)
But it's true though. I mean, technically, if someone has a disease, it's natures way of keeping the population down, same with sicknesses, old age, illness, etc., right?
So if we use medicine to prolong our lives, and disregard nature's way of killing us off, then how can it be a crime to want to stop using something that is "unnatural" to begin with??
Im not saying Im against medicine, not at all, but I'm questioning how we have become so self absorbed with our own intelligence and faith in medicine to think that having it is something primal, natural, and that to take it away is a crime, when really, many countries go without medicine/treatment every day.

I was talking more about natural things, ie. diseases and old age, rather than man made things, like war and murder.

well i think there is nothing that is unnatural if u think in a way, as we make everything unnatural products from the entities given by the nature. Dont u think so?
And as they say, Neccisity is the mother of invention! I think you r right abt medicines, in a way it seems as though we r prolonging our lives with the help of the medicines, but it doesnt mean that to balance the nature we should not stop the ill ones n let them die in front of us. We r here for a reason. Right now, its humanity. Well that's my pov. I m not saying i m 100% right either. That goes to all out there.

I just think that illness is natures way of not letting the world become overpopulated. Just like with hunger and such, it's suppose to keep the population at a maintainable number, so that we can support ourselves. But people who are terminal, the ones who WANT to die, who are we to say "no, you MUST have the procedure/medicine/treatmeant?" Besides, it comes out of our taxes to help people who don't want to be helped, that money could go towards helping others who actually want the help.
Im not saying it should be legal for a doctor to refuse help to someone who is sick and wants it, im saying it should be legal fora patient to refuse the help if they don't want it.

Perhaps someone can't make the decision for themselves, and their fate lies solely on who ever has the legal right to decide for them. Or if someone is in pain and wants to die, should they be allowed to ask someone else to allow them that? Should it be legalised to allow doctors to withhold life saving medical procedures, or to take someone off lifesupport if they ask them to?
It's tricky, because people might misinterpret and think that it is legalising the act of suicide/assisted suicide, which I suppose it is... but then again, medicine basically prolongs nature's timeline for everyone, so I suppose denying medical attention shouldn't be illegal, as it's unnatural in the first place....
Bah, to each their own...
