For numero uno, when you say "environment", do you mean the environment in which one is conceived (i.e: womb) or the environment after birth or a little bit of both?

There are several studies that show evidence which leads one to believe that it is not the external environment that solely governs one's sexual orientation. If that be the case, then how the deuce does a ram suddenly "decide" to be gay. I highly doubt the social structure of sheep and mannerisms of mothering is as complex as ours or extremely different between ewes. O__o

Well, I don't think about Obama, hence no thoughts. :-P
Most of the world leaders have disappointed me, so I just really do not have a positive feel towards any of them.

As for Darfur, it's been 5 years. And no one wants anything to do with it - prevention wise.
Some are afraid of a Vietnam/Somalia (failure and life-losses) happening and others are afraid of another Afghanistan/Iraq (intervention turned into occupation). Another difficulty is China - since it's the biggest (if not one of the biggest) contributors to the war as it extracts Sudan's oil and hence, provides the finances. And really, no one wants to step on China's toes by intervening. No one.
So to solve this problem, we need to intervene without occupying and getting completely killed AND ensure China is not touched (which it will be).

My thoughts used to be: intervene at any cost!
But since the similarities between Iraq and Afghanistan are immense, I'm a little skeptical about American/Canadian/British intervention. That's why I stopped posting petitions to save darfur and I'm just posting news flashes about the region. *sighs*
Though, I do wonder... Africa and Middle East are completely different regions - politically and interest-wise speaking. So... even IF there is any intervention, I think it probably won't turn into occupation due to instability and lack/limited interest. *rubs chin*

Honestly, my basic plea is that the refugees are cared for (which they currently aren't) and the "prospective" refugees with their hometowns are protected (which aren't either). And I find it unbelievably stupid that they would send "peace-keepers" into a hostile area without any weapons. THAT is where you have losses. *rolls eyes*

firstly i dont believe there's any rule for what orientation we're born. Sure we're all born bi, but certainly not in the same ratios. Any time from birth till death, we can be anywhere to an infinitesimal degree along the scale. Statistically speaking, most people dont move much in their life, but some people do.

As for environment, it can affect some people in a big way, others it doesnt.

Tabula rasa states that we're all born the same. But bisexuality is not an impartial pinpoint - its all encompassing.

Some people are born mostly gay, others are born mostly straight, whatever! - but anyone can be anywhere on the scale at any given time.

Having said that, this is why i do not believe in the label "bi". because acknowledging someone's bisexuality is implying that some people are NOT bisexual.

I'm pretty sure that my boyfriend is 30% gay and 70% straight. Mainly because he has awesome taste in clothes, shoes, and he knows of 3 men that he would happily sleep with, with no qualms. I told him I've had [my favourite] pair of black skinny-leg jeans for 3 years. His response was, verbatim, "Oh wow, they've held their colour really well!"
