Ok I googled it and this is what I found....(the article was long so I sumed it to this.)
Six Sigma is a business management strategy, originally developed by Motorola, that today enjoys widespread application in many sectors of industry.
Six Sigma was originally developed as a set of practices designed to improve manufacturing processes and eliminate defects, but its application was subsequently extended to other types of business processes as well.In Six Sigma, a defect is defined as anything that could lead to customer dissatisfaction.
So more or less it's about customers satisfaction with that certain product they are buying from that company. So does the company strive to give their customers excellent merchandise or do they try to cut corners and hope no one complains about any defects! lol :P
