I think it's important to teach about and recognize past history... if the figure had been done in a way so as to HONOR him, then THAT would be despicable, but that's not the impression I got

yeah, they just wanted to show him as a important part of the world history, i think. thats why i find it stupid and senseless to destroy a figure in the name of freedom or whatever. and one fact is..without him, the world wouldnt have any freeways or so..and also no VW vehicle!..these things changed the world in a good way, so the world cant make him a monster at all..or calling him satan's son or so..its bul*s*it..i think he was a ill man..nowadays people like him come into special phychology hispitals..

true, he was disturbed... what we need is a balance between recognizing the gravity of history's truths with the realization that we are where we are because of that history... that doesn't mean we should be THANKFUL for the bad things that happen, just that we have to acknowledge how they've affected us

i only think, its senseless to make a country and their people guilty for anyhting that happened over 60 years ago. fact is, we cant change the past, we just can make the best of what happened. and stupid things like what this guy did, doesnt really help to calm down about that naturaly difficult subject.

i think, the best is, to take the good things and forget the bad things, because anyway, it wont help us to remember always the bad stuff. it might helps more to forget the too bad stuff, so nobody can remember it and takes it as excuse for their own shi*..

personaly, i think its very wrong, that germany still has to pay millions to the jewish people who having a good life in israel, even because the germans who earning money of their hard work now, couldnt even do anyhting, because they didnt live in that time.

I can certainly understand the German people feeling that way, since they weren't even involved. I didn't even know about that actually, I thought it was just the US that was supporting israel

Well i think it is very important to learn about political figures like Hitler but i wouldnt put him on a pedestal the man was a complete nutbag serial killer committing genocide of an entire ethnic group yet very smart,tatical and powerful!

They all did their best to do their worst, but you cant forget them. Forgetting about their existance and what they did is validating their actions.
