emo doesnt exist, most rock can be described as emotionaly.

Personally I'd choose Emo. At least it's hinged in reality. Metal is fantasy for the most part.
Was watching a music channel the other day and Judas Priest came on with 'Breakin the Law' 1980s New Wave of British Heavy Metal. Birth of Iron Maiden and the likes. I can honestly say... looking back those guys didn't have a clue. It was the naffest vid I have ever seen. How metal survived is beyond me.
Oh... isn't emo a sub classification of alt rock whereas metal has many subcategories of it's own? Death, Heavy, Industrial etc...

alright, emo stands for emotional. have you ever heard a song and it gave you goosebumps? thats emo. rap or death metal can be emo just depends on the psyche of the individual. now somewhere along the line some people changed this, and took emo as a title for a genre of music where bands just cry over spilled milk. (country already does this so i dont know why we needed another one...)the scene has nothing to do with music either, cause it has taken the backseat to fashion, eg; tight pants, the scenester haircut, and the occasional scarf. im soo sick of "the scene." a whole bunch of nothing playing instruments.
