Jane Seymour (Tudor)
Jane Seymour was the 3rd wife of King Henry VIII. She was King Henry VIII's Fifth cousin , 3 times removed. (not close cousins). No one is sure of her birthday. She wasn't highly educated like Catherine of Aragon or Anne Boleyn, she was a bit of a dummy, all she could really do is read or write her name. All she could do is needlework and housework management. She was lady in waiting for Catherine of Aragon (for only a year) then she ended up lady in waiting to Anne Boleyn. King Henry VIII fell in love with Jane Seymour when he stayed over at her parents house for a visit. King Henry VIII romance at this time was falling rapidly. He falsly accused Anne Boleyn his wife of adultery and witchcraft and incest so he can get rid of Anne Boleyn and marry Jane Seymour. As Anne Boleyn didn't want to give him a divorce as if she did Elizabeth I would not have been given her titles (thankfully her daughter Elizabeth I was given her titles and ended up being one of the greatest Queen's of all time), so it was a good move on Anne Boleyn's behalf she was thinking of her daughters future. Jane Seymour and her allys played the same cards that Anne Boleyn played, she made sure she wouldn't be the King's w*ore (like the rest of them who ended up on the side with his bastard children). She said to him if you want me I will remain a virgin until we are married. That is the same thing Anne Boleyn did. King Henry VIII was urgent to get rid of Anne Boleyn so he could marry Jane Seymour and hope to get a son that wasn't a bastard (this wish of his came true, although unfortunately for Jane it would cost her life). Jane Seymour stepped over the corpse body of Anne Boleyn to marry King Henry VIII the day after her execution and the day of Anne Boleyn's birthday. Jane Seymour was announced as Queen 5 days later, although unlike Catherine of Aragon and Anne Boleyn, Jane Seymour wasn't officially crowned, as their was a plague epidemic around at the time. It was said that King Henry VIII didn't want to officially crown any other Queen until they gave him the son that he desired. They said Jane Seymour was a very ugly woman (you can tell by her paintings), she wasn't pretty, she had an ugly chin, a big fat nose, and very very pale, also she was very dumb, never spoke (she was very shy), she also just went along with what every one else said. She basically was the DOOR MAT Queen as historians have called her. Jane Seymour was strict and formal, and she was also a Catholic (which caused a bit of a problem in the relationship), although Mary (Catherine of Aragon and Henrys daughter), was also a strict Catholic, and because they were both Catholic, Jane Seymour got her accepted back in court once again and back into the Kings life (Mary's father). Jane Seymour didn't have many friends, she was close to her brothers wife, and her own sister Elizabeth. Anne BOleyn's court was lively and entertaining. Jane Seymour's court was strict and dull and she made sure all her lady's in waiting dressed modest. Unlike Queen Anne Boleyn who showed a bit of her hair under her French hood. The French fashion's that was introduced by Anne Boleyn was banned. She made sure that all her lady's in waiting had the correct amount of pearls sewn into their dresses. King Henry VIII liked Jane Seymour as she was the opposite of his other wives, she didn't have an opinion and she was well a door mat she never spoke up about anything. Although King Henry VIII had doubts about marrying her after his marriage to her as she was 'boring' he had his eyes on 2 young women in the court, and he quoted that he wished he didn't marry Jane Seymour in a hurry as he had his eyes on another woman. They say she was conservative, but being a strict catholic and married to King Henry VIII (church of England) she wanted him to go back to being Catholic and going back to Rome, and she wanted pardons for Catholics for participants in Pilgrimage of Grace. This was probably the only time she spoke up (which was a big mistake) King Henry VIII got the shits with her and told her 'remember the fate of Anne Boleyn' and told Jane 'not to meddle into his affairs.' In 1537 Jane Seymour fell preganant, during her pregnancy she had a craving for Quail all the time. King Henry VIII had to order it in daily for her to eat. Jane Seymour ended up having King Henrys VIII first living son, the future King Edward VI at Hampton Court. She went to her son's christening, although she was very ill after child birth. She got peuerperal fever and she died on October the 24th at Hampton Court. she was buried at Windsor Castle, her step daughter Princess Mary was chief Mourner. After her death King Henry VIII mourned a lot and was severally depressed, he wore black for 3 years and didn't re-marry for another 3 years (it only took Rove McManus less than a year to get over Belinda Emmett, poor Belinda, he must have loved her a lot lmfao). Henry Spent his whole life looking back on Jane Seymour with such a big affection. Most people presume this was because it was only Jane Seymour who gave him the son that he longed for and also she died so early into the relationship, he didn't get a chance to tire of her. When King Henry VIII ended up dying (when he was married to Catherine Parr) he ended up got buried right next to Jane Seymour. After Jane's death, her 2 brothers got quite a fortune. Jane Seymours brother ended up marrying Catherine Parr (King Henry VIII 6th wife and last wife) after he died. This same man also tried to get onto Elizabeth I when she was young, thankfully Catherine Parr put a stop to it, and sent him away, and thankfully for Elizabeth I who didn't want some old guy groping her and wanting to marry her just for the fact she was the King's daughter and he wanted the status and the fortune. He also worked for King Edward VI (Jane Seymour and King Henry VIII son) but ended up falling into disgrace and ended up exectued. Both brothers fell from power and executed. The English balled THE DEATH OF QUEEN JANE is about the death of Jane Seymour. The song 'LADY JANE' by The Rolling stones also holds connections to Jane Seymour. The song is about Henry's sadness about losing Jane Seymour.
