I prefer to know what someone looks like, because I like to imagine them while I talk to them, but I also respect people's right to privacy, so I would never not talk to someone because they didn't have a pic up

I dont mind talking to anyone with out without a pic it's just that for those without i kinda limit the conversation cause i have no idea of who am talking to, but at the same time who's to say those with pic's are really the person your talking to.

Avatars are cool by me...I use one myself...reasons are simple.
1. here for friends...and I dont really have any hangups about how my friends look.
2. I am married...not looking...dont wanna fool around...so I dont use my own pic.
3. My avatar is Bigfoot...just like my online persona, a fantastical being.
4. Anyone who NEEDS to have an image of a person in order to communicate with them by an electronic (that is, an other than personal) means is extremely shallow, self serving, self centered, and probably a self abuser.
5. Does it really matter in the end? I mean, pictures, even real pictures, dont tell you the truth about a person... only conversation can do that.
