The "Sexual Preference" profile section...
of the "Dating Profile" seems to bewilder a lot of people. I've mostly found this to be true of those who don't speak English as their native Language.
Perhaps it would be more clear if it were "Sexual Orientation" with the choices being Straight, Gay or Bisexual" (That's how it's done on MySpace).
That is of course, unless I'm misunderstanding the definitions as intended here on Zorpia. lol.
But here's my take on the definitions as it now stands on Zorpia.:
FOR MALES:
Sexual Preference: Female = Straight
Sexual Preference: Male = Gay
Sexual Preference: Male & Female = Bisexual
FOR FEMALES:
Sexual Preference: Female = Lesbian
Sexual Preference: Male = Straight
Sexual Preference: Male & Female = Bisexual
If I've got the definitions right then I think changing the wording is in order. It does bewilder a lot of people when they are filling out their profile (they often put "male and female" when they are in fact not bisexual, but straight).
This could lead to rather embarrassing situations (or rather, it has...)....

But let's say your bi and doing a search for Zorpians who are also bi. Unless English is thier native language, then odds are those showing "Male and Female" should in fact be just one of those (the opposite sex).

I would like the "Sexual Preference" section to be like a cafeteria where I can choose a hot guy from a checklist of physical and personality attributes... oh yeah, sorry, I forgot this isn't a dating site :P

ANY site where you meet others is obviously going to foster new friendships and new relationships by chance, but the primary purpose of Zorpia is not to be a dating site.
