Thank you for your poem Jessie it made me think about my darkness.
I don't usually share my feelings with others but I think it is appropiate here because you don't know me personally in the real world.
When my marriage broke up 3 years ago, I went into a very deep depression.My whole life suffered as a concequence.
I didn't want to get out of bed, my work suffered, my family suffered and I didn't want to be here. If I didn't have children, I would probably be dead by now. My darkess is still with me on some days,but Im fighting it and I get angry for no reason when I am in that mood. Outside my light is shining, but inside it is still dark.
I am slowly walking towards the light and one day I will be able to say Thank God that Im still here :-)

In my book depression is like suicidal. Why? Because we "work" on ourselves and we hurt ourselves. I know how hard it is to get out of depression and i know i am still in it every now and then, but i am hoping, just like you, that one day i will see the light at the end of the tunnel. I don't think that anyone can help us get out of this, but US.

YES LINDA I CAN UNDERSTAND YOUR HURT.MY SON SEPERATED FOUR YEARS AGO AND HE CAME TO LIVE WITH ME BUT MY HEART WENT OUT TO HIM WHEN I SAW HIM ALL LOST AND HURT.I PRAYED HARD TO JESUS AND NOE HE IS OUT OF THAT DEEP DARK WOOD, HE IS VERY HAPPY WITH HIS PARTNER FROM LATVIA WHOM HE FOUND ON THE INTERNET.YES GOD WORKS IN MYSTERIOUS WAYS,TRUST IN HIM LINDA, HE WILL NEVER FORSAKE YOU.

I have my faith Jessie.Believe it or not but I am a true believer in God. I believe that we are here to learn and when one door closes, another one opens.It is my own fault that I am still punishing myself and hateing myself at the same time, because if I can't love myself, then I can't expect anyone else to love me either!...They say that a cure for a broken heart is to find a new love, just as your son did and thats perfect.But Im not ready for another love just yet, well, not until I learn to love myself first :-)

I QUITE UNDERSTAND WHAT U MEAN AND WHAT YOU FEEL, , BUT LINDA DEAR, I ALWAYS TURN TO GOD IN PROBLEMS, AND BELIEVE IT OR NOT I FIND SOLACE, IN HIM, GOD WORKS IN MYSTERIOUS WAYS,DO NOT THINK THAT I AM A SAINT MIND YOU, BUT I HAVE GREAT TRUST IN HIM.

The Dark
I don't like the dark coming down on my head
It feels like a blanket thrown over the bed
i don't like the dark coming down on my head.
I don't like the dark coming down over me
It feels like the room's full of things I can't see
I don't like the dark coming over me.
There isn't enough light from under the door
It only just reaches the edge of the floor
there isn't enough light from under the door.
I wish that my dad hadn't put out the light
It feels like there's something that's just out of sight

But under the bedclothes it's warm and secure
You can't see the ceiling you can't see the floor

every cause has a need to fight for. Nothing can come out of waiting for the fig to fall in your mouth, you have to play your part.We have a saying in Malta "help yourself in order to be helped"

ur so right, can't understand those ppl who are always complaining but never moove a finger.
:) we hungarians have a saying that matches urs : help urself and god will help u too...hmm a bit contradictory with my opinion about religion but the finality is the same!

I agree with you and honestly, i think that every person has that deep secret or thought that is never discussed with anyone else. It sits just inside us. It is not easy to tell someone a certain something..maybe because of the fear of not being judged. Us, humans, do a good job about judging someone else. God helps us showing us a way..some kind of a solution (not always the easiest one), but there is always one person that can stop and help you: your inner self. You, me..we can stop, lay down all the facts and find solutions to our problems. It is not easy, but in our hearts we would know that we did the best we could with what we had at a certain time..:)
