Zorpia was founded in 2003 with a goal of bringing people together from all over the world and allowing them to share their ideas and interests. Since then the Zorpia Team has worked ceaselessly to reach people's heart and provide the best features in order to maximize our users' satisfaction. Our primary features are photo album, online journal, social networking, customized homepage, comment system and discussion forum.
The headquarters are located in Hong Kong, China. However, we are planning to open new branches in mainland China, US, UK, Australia and many other countries as we grow bigger.
Our company is run by the founder Jeffrey Ng and a team of diligent individuals.
Jeffrey Ng - Founder and CEO
Jeffrey Ng launched Zorpia in December 7, 2003. He started his first entrepreneurial experience at the age 15. He previously worked for Expedia Inc. and the National Center for Supercomputing Applications at the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign. Jeffrey graduated from University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign with a double degree in Computer Engineering and Finance. He started building and developing Zorpia in 2002 in his own apartment and after one year Zorpia became a global influence that brought different people together. Currently he is leading the Zorpia team to put together their ideas and innovative thoughts in order to provide you the best and the most fun experience on Zorpia.com.
Calvin Yuen - Lead Software Engineer
Calvin, a ping pong enthusiast and a self-confessed cooking reality TV show lover, is a Hong Kong native and a graduate of UNC-charlotte in the United States, where he majored in computer engineering. His worked as a software developer gave him expertise in many computer languages. He became a part of the Zorpia family in 2005 and expanded it when he got married had a daughter. He enjoys computer games, meeting new people and telling jokes. A fun guy to be around, Zorpia is lucky to have Calvin on the team.
Jaymie Arcilla - Community Manager
Jaymie has worked in various positions, starting at the young age of 17. She can sketch, play guitar and sing. She used to do this a lot back in her acoustic-rock-band days during college. Starting in a law firm as an Administrative Assistant and a working student at the time, she shifted courses to Business Administration while still maintaining a high GPA. In year 2005, the training from her previous job helped her with her next position at Zorpia.
Since then, Jaymie has witnessed and developed many improvements on Zorpia and has directly influenced its growth.
