I’ve drawn a blank

As to where I should go

Follow you home

Or take my own road

Mine is less traveled

And most rocky at times

But if I follow your footsteps

I could just as well be blind

Things have been hard

No doubt I’ve been broke

But each morning I wake

To find less of that lump in my throat

They days have gone by

But the walk has been slow

I chose my own road

I could not follow you home

Although I was scared

And shattered inside

I am a better person

For not traveling blind
