My third original song

Sunday,Jan 27 2008, 02:21:59 AM

My next video was my third original song that I uploaded to Youtube. It's a slow number that has no percussion. I tried to make sure that the lyrics were not too specific so that they could appeal to more people's lives.

The track is "Blow away", and it's loosely about someone looking over their previous relationships, and how they believe that they were the reason for the end of them.

See what you think:

My rendition of a Connells classic is next :)

Neil and Pulp fiction

Friday,Jan 25 2008, 03:00:17 PM

This is a song that was used in a classic movie called "Pulp fiction". The group that did a cover of the song were known as Urge Overkill. I think it was my first hearing of this song, and I was very surprised to discover that it was actually written by Neil Diamond.

A wonderful movie and an equally wonderful song. Very enjoyable to sing.

So here is my rendition of it.

Next, to video twenty five. Which is another one of my own songs.

Rhyme that sprang from me

So Neil Diamond was on the menu again. I was ploughing through my requests. There were a large number to do, and some of those were Neil songs.

The next one up, off the list was "Play Me". I have to admit that this is one of my favourites of his. I don't really know why. It just feels pretty good to sing.

See what you think:

In an effort to get some of the Neil songs out of the way, the next video is a Neil song too. Then it's back to other songs.

There you go :)

A Twist of fate.

Thursday,Jan 17 2008, 03:56:19 PM

I'm going straight to video 22 because video 21 was one of my how to sing vids, and I mentioned that in an earlier post.

Moving on to the 22nd video.

This was a song that I wrote a few years ago. This one went down well, and has the thumbs up from quite a few people. There are a couple of other songs with the same title, but let me assure you. It's quite different. It's called 'Twist of fate', and it was written from top to bottom, by me.

Here it is:

I've done a bit of experimenting with my music. I tried to provide an unorthodox arrangement to the song, so that it would match the meaning. So all the verses are at the beginning, and the choruses at the end. It's quite a moving song. I hope you enjoy it.

You may notice that I use slideshows in my original song videos. There's no special reason, though I do try to match pictures to moods.

Guess what's coming after this? Would Neil Diamond be of any surprise :)

Neil is becoming a habit

Tuesday,Jan 15 2008, 06:09:45 PM

I kept on getting more requests, and it was time for another Neil Diamond song. A number of the requests I had received had been for Neil Diamond numbers, and from all of those I chose to do Beautiful noise. Up until this post, this song had had over 750 viewings.

So here goes. My rendition of Beautiful Noise by Neil Diamond.

I hope you enjoyed that if you listened to it. I have done more Neil Diamnd songs. All of them were requests, and will appear in later posts.
