Pug, I apologize about writing you back so late. I've had a hectic schedule too... and have been looking for a job for the longest time! I don't participate in that many threads any more, and have not seen you around for the longest time! Maybe you just have not been choosing the same topics as I.

I have evolved so much in my thinking here. I would love to know how you have been weathering all this new information. It has changed my thinking a lot, although I think I have an even greater respect for what I have come to believe. Yes, yes, yes... I still believe in Jesus as a master role model for us, and the spirit he brought forth onto the world is of the greatest significance, however... it has come to be in a way that makes it even more solid. This site rocked the foundations on which I stood, it has caused a lot of my beliefs to evolve, it has come to make more sense, and I think it has made me a better person. How about yourself? I'm very curious to know if these studies, these challenges here have brought a new enlightenment in your life too?

I hope you like your new job! I've heard that Malaysia is getting very strict. Is that true? Is it as strict as Singapore? I know that the most beautiful place I've seen is Penang... you lucky duck!

Sorry to hear you are disappointed in your job, Pug. Have you discussed this with people at your church? Maybe they can help you... or have you considered asking for your other job back? Hey, if you really think you may want it back... it never hurts to ask.

I'm trying to get a job with the government here. It has been a major transition in my career AGAIN. However, it always works out and seems to always be a good adventure in my life. Soooooo.... I have faith that if I do the right things, something good will happen.  :shrug:

Pug, you mean you haven't learned anything on this site? Do you have time to look up information to debate their contentions? Do you already think you know EVERYTHING in the Bible? Of course not, we ALL can learn. The one thing that I think impedes many Christians, who come onto this site, is their belief in a literal hell. This seems to lock in a mind set out of fear. Not good. Who wants to worship a God of retribution? Which I think the God of Jesus is the one that is of the ultimate compassion and unconditional love, while still holding people accountable and responsible for their behavior out of this love.... never out of retribution.

I'll tell you what I've come to believe, and maybe we can have our own private debate? I'd be very interested in what you think.

I see a people evolving in the OT of a God that is out there somewhere, that is beyond us and over us. There is also in the OT the emergence of just one God, not many gods. The OT reveals a people that have come to identify and revere what is sacred, making laws. They have done this to the minute detail, so ridiculously that they have determined how to wash one's hands! Further, they determined if an animal or person had any flaw, they were inferior... and not allowed in the temple of God. In this temple was the only place one could find and commune with God.

I see a great and mighty social revolutionist in the NT, we now call Jesus. He asserted that everyone is equal, regardless of deformities or whatever. He brought the awareness that God is not out there somewhere, but within us all. Therefore, we are the temple of God and can worship and commune with God at any time! He also said that the written words of the law, the letter of the law were killing us! It is the meaning and intentions of the law that are important, and therefore there are exceptions to these laws... such as it's ok to heal someone on the Sabbath or get your oxen out of the ditch. Think! was his message.

Further, Jesus asserted that ALL would be saved out of grace. Grace is understanding everyone is doing the best they know how, in the situation they're in, with the coping skills available to them. Hence, forgive them for they know not what they do. Yet, all have to be accountable and responsible for their actions. He lived by his principles even unto death, and therefore death could not overcome him.

Jesus was a great guy, that deserved the honor and respect that grew amongst the people. Incorporating him into every corner of the world, their myths became superimposed onto him, making him more acceptable amongst every culture. Jesus was a great man, that had attained the heart and insight of God, yet he believed in everyone else to do everything he did and even greater things. We have faith in him because he has faith in us. There was no magic in what he did, and he is the greatest role model of all times.

So anyway, I do hope that you are over believing in a literal hell. If you do believe in one, please explain to me how this could be from an ultimate loving God who does so unconditionally?

So many babes, so little time

There are human babes of the female kind and there are machine babes, usually referred to as females as well. Regarding the latter, I have this issue with their little behinds, however pert they may get.

Well, to be specific, it’s their protruding exhaust pipes. I don’t like to see them. I prefer them hidden. One exception – yep, those turbo-engined cars that require 6-inch megaphone, mega huge exhaust pipes. These are purely functional, except those who fit these pipes to look functional.
