Wednesday,Apr 23 2008, 02:27:15 PMMy driver seat window is smashed...
Yes. My driver seat window is SMASHED into pieces by some fucktard last night.
This morning I woke up as usual and then walked to my car to drive to work. Then I saw my driver seat window was gone with little broken bits hanging around the edge. Broken glasses were everywhere inside and outside of the car. My GPS navigation system went missing.
A kind lady across the street asked that whether that car was mine, because she saw the window of it broken already when she got out of her house earlier this morning. Yeah, I said. She went home and grabbed her little broom and kindly helped me to clean the glass blisters out of the car with me. I really, really appreciate her.
Sigh...A average GPS these days only cost around $130....why the F would anyone smash someone's car window and to create many kinds of fcking inconvinience for a damn cheap GPS??? Sigh. Getting my driver seat window will cost me $150 today. A new GPS will roughly cost about the same as well. *Stretch* It just feels GREAT to be a loser once in a while. VERY great.

Thursday,Apr 17 2008, 08:21:17 PMOne damn long conversation (and still growing)
This is my conversation with my colleague in Germany about one of my posts regarding a ferrari 360 I saw back in Calgary.
Eventually we totally went off topic. But whoa, the convo went on.
That's a total of 42 comments so far (including mine)
Cars are just awesome and damn...I can't stop talking about cars...
I think this is a quite classic convo due to its length. HAHAHAHAHA!

I already saw this one here in germany a couple of times, maybe because it's a European car. :)
But I have to say, I don't really think it is that great. But maybe that depends on the country you come from. I like a Dodge Viper Pacecar Edition better for example. :D
answer
Andre Ruttert 2008-04-07 13:53
Bah, I have to point out that 360 is definitely not the pretty one from the whole Ferrari series, nor when compared with other supercars. But considering that each machine produced by Ferrari is surely a exotic symbol on the road, I would still take a photo of it no matter what. ;)
Yead dude you live in Europe so I'm sure you see a whole lot more nice European supercars than we do here in North America. But damn...I still think that the RR Phantom that I saw the other day in front of a church while I was driving by was the best car that I have seen in real life so far...then it's the Lamborghini that was zooming right in front of me the other day...then it's the red Porsche 911 that was coming right behind me when I was driving home after work few weeks ago...then there are all the ferraris that I have seen...then it's the Bently...and so on..........Though I really think the Porsches are kind of ugly. XD
Vipers are quite nice, but it's still quite far away when you start considering cars like the MC12, SLR, CCX&CCXR and etc.
But, LUCKY YOU for living in Germany! You have so much more chance of seeing (and even get your hands on) hot European machines!! (and for a bit cheaper price tag!!) :D
Ke Sun 2008-04-07 15:50

Well, the funny thing is this:
As you are not living in Germany/Europe, you prefer German/European (or whatever) cars. I personally like US cars. :) So I like the old Charger, Mustang and so on. I really like muscle cars. And since Porsche and Ferrari is more common here than in the US for example, muscle cars are quite exotic to me.
Ok, Lamborghinis are still nice, I have to admit that. Did you see the latest lamborghini supercar? The one where they only made 20 of it? I personally think that is the most awesome car I have ever seen. There is no other car like it.
The Lamborghini Reventon!

Actually I really like Mustangs too. But without tuning Mustangs, you will never get the potentials of their raw powers in their engine! ;)
HAHAHA YEAH! The Reventon!! (pronouced like "Rebenton")!!!
That is the only Lamborghini I would totally die for! The jet inspired body design is totally wicked and wild! :D
And I thought they extended the production to 24? the 25th one went into the museum (or something like that)...but man...that's one adorable and sexy 1 million quid supercar......
Do you also know the "flower power" CCXR? It's also another stunning babe with a bloody engine that produces more than 1000bhp! It's got a price tag of 1.3 million quid though... but for that kind of performance and body design (it's also VERY limited), it's worth every penny of it. ;)
Ke Sun 2008-04-07 18:06

I really can not understand why they only made 20 (0r 25, haven't heard about that) of this car. They could sell so many... Well it is a nice display of superiority in my opinion. :) I like the color, the beamless finnish, the design, it is totally awesome!
There are many other cars of course like The Audi RS8 or even some Ferraries that I like. Right now I drive a Ford Ka, look for it in google. :D
answer
Andre Ruttert 2008-04-08 08:31
I guess that little number of production is one of the reasons why the Reventon is so legendary. If Lambo made thousands of them and let them scattered everywhere all over the world, I guess it wouldn't be as rare and precious as it is now... The 20 (or 25) is one of the reasons that enhances the superiority of the Reventon, in my mind.. :)
ps. The army green version of Reventon is so much better looking than the silver version though!
Ford Ka? Omg! Isn't that the so-called "American version of the VW Beetles"? Hahaha they look so similar!! XD
How do you feel getting behind the wheels of a Ka? I think that all-rounded up design would make anyone feel 10 years younger! lol!
Ke Sun 2008-04-08 16:21
...
Actually the Ka looks like this (mine is green): http://www.elitecaralmeria.com/images/ford_ka.gif (I did not check the content of the web-site) So I don't think it looks like the beetle... oh, you mean the old VW beetle? I was thinking about the New Beetle. But anyway, I don't think there is a similarity. :D
The Ka is a good car but in Germany we say it is more of a women car. That is maybe because of the direct steering and its design. Many say it drives like a Go-Kart. :) I am ok with it, I had to buy a car to start my job at Siemens and that was the only option I had. Any explanation about this would take too long. ;)
About the Lambo: True, I like the 'beamless', darker finnish better than the silvery one.

LOL!! They both look just as around (the Ka and the Beetle, I meant)! :D

Yeah, I was about to say that: shouldn't be ladies who drive Ka? It's kind of strange knowing that cars today have been pretty much genderized (is that even a word?). A typical car that any lady (but excluding me) would drive is the Mini copper. ;)
If you ever watch Top Gear, and if you were at the scene, and if Jeremy knew that you are driving a Ka, guess what he would do? XD

Well, never watched Top Gear... :)
My GF likes the new Mini. I like it too but even more I like the Mini Clubman. It is the 'longer' version of the new mini with suicide doors. Looks nice but it is expensive.
For me there are many cars I like, not so many I can afford though. I do not need to have expensive luxury cars, it just needs to look good or whatever is important to me. ;)

The Lambo Murcielago is one shouty machine! It would be something that I'd really love to have. Plus, all Lamgorghinis are AWD, so it will be an awesome ride for all seasons, even during winter! ;)

Hahaha, yes it's true. All Lamborghinis are all wheel drive! :D
From what I learned from my friends, the muscle car lovers usually love the raw and undedicated simplicity of those old school cars. They are not tech-savy and shimmering as what the new cars are, but that is exactly the beauty of the old school muscle cars. ;P
Though, I think the new Shelby still has the old muscle car main structure and looks. Unlike the new Mustangs, Shelby seems like that it has kept the tradition of muscles cars quite well. What do you think?
Ke Sun 2008-04-14 12:32

Maybe the 'Shelby versions' are different. They look good, that is true. Saw some on Detroit Motor Show last year. They have their own look and tradition. Nonetheless the old Shelby Mustangs look much better. ;)
By the way: Last year when I was at Detroit Motor Show I saw the new charger with the superbee logo. Since then I love the superbee sign. :D

Engine is what muscle cars are all about. Even if the body of the muscle car starts to rust and fall apart, the engine will work just fine and the car will go just as it should! Now that's a muscle car! >:-D
Ke Sun 2008-04-15 15:28

True. I would really like to repair a car like an old chevelle or whatever with my own hands. But I don't have the mechanical abilities. So if I had one, someone would need to repair it for me and that is costly.
I realized that to me the sound of the car is very important to me. Not with my everyday car but with muscle cars. When I have been to these little car shows in the area of Warrendale, PA, I even took videos of the cars driving just to have the motorsound. One video of that is in my youtube account... well, I don't know the tags unfortunately but look for the following: 'wexford starlight cruise' I think that was the name. Wexford is a small town near the place I lived. I made two vidoes from lowriders and one from a mustang. Try to find that of a mustang in my account and you will see what I mean with good motor sound. :)

I saw the old super bee sign only painted on a car. It looks different, yes. But the sign is ingenious, a bee with a built in motor etc. It just looks so funny.
There are many car 'signs' I like, for example the dodge 'ram' symbol. I saw it as a large version on detroit motor show, as big as the whole stand. Quite impressive.
I think you already know but maybe... Did you know all cars of Lamborghini are named after famous bulls from bull fighting?
answer
Andre Ruttert 2008-04-16 15:14
Ram? You mean the big goat head? XD
Lamborghini's logo of the bull is quite obvious actually. The first time I saw it I suddenly started to imagine crazy bulls bumming into each other (bull fight)!!
Just look at the logos...Ferrari's prancing horse....Ford's running mustang and toxic cobra...Jaguar's, jaguar...Dodge's ram...etc. All of the crazy animals are picked as nice cars' logos! I wonder would anyone use a dino or an elephant as their logo? Shouldn't the Range Rover be the elephant? lol! :D
Ke Sun 2008-04-16 15:25

Lol! Probabaly yes. :) Ford had it also in their car names like Puma or Cougar. Volkswagen used the names of winds like Golf, Bora, Scirocco, Passat etc. So everything that is fast. :)
And it is not a goat head! It is a ram. :D But well, that might be in the eye of the beholder. :D

Speaking of tunning, I like the Mercedez that Brabus tuned! Well mostly because they make the cars much better looking, since the performance wouldn't improve much (considering the engineering level of the most Mercedez models).. :P

I personally think Mercedez are much sexier than BMW's. ;) Also I did hear about Brabus tuning the Smart cars. Tuning Smart should be easier than tuning Mercedez because the Smart has a huge lump of stuff to improve where most Mercedez models are almost near perfection already... :P

I have to disagree with your BMW/Mercedes statement. For many people in Germany Mercedes still is a car for old people who have retired and from that bought a Mercedes. This picture might have changed recently but I still have that picture in my mind. I can not speak for others though.
BMW has a more sporty image and is for younger people (who can afford them) as well.
And I even think that most current BMWs look better than current Mercedes'. But that is in the eye of the beholder as well. :)
answer
Andre Ruttert 2008-04-16 16:19
Ahah! That's also my point!
I prefer the Mercedez over the BMW because of it's much more formal looking! Because for a professional purpose, the look of the car must contains no kiddie jokes. Most BMW's have got this flirty look and the front grill is like the mouth of a bunny with two giant teeth. XD When I start my career in the future, I would rather drive a Mercedez for formal purposes than a BMW. If I want something sporty (Like I do, actually. lol), then I will go for something that's sheer sporty! I am not a big fan of cars that are both sporty and formal at the same time, so it's either completely calm and proper, or crazy and shouty! >:-D
One of the big reasons I don't like BMW as much as the Mercedez is because of the bunny front grill...I want to laugh at it everytime I see one...XP
But don't get me wrong, BMW's are still very nice cars! My mom wants to buy one. :)
Ke Sun 2008-04-16 16:29
...
Lol! Never heard that about the rabbit teeth. :D But I like the front of BMW. It just looks nice to me. Mercedes just looks boring. ;)
Also some of the current Porsches or Ferraris don't look that flashy in my opinion. Sometimes I think the designers are resting... Why don't they come up with new ideas? They have large amounts of money available for design and development but you do not see that.
What I mean is: Just look at the current Honda Civic:
Front: http://www.honda.de/images/car/large/car_civic_029_2006_g.jpg
Back: http://www.honda.de/images/car/large/car_civic_028_2006_g.jpg
Apart from if you like it or not, it looks all new and futuristic. So why do other companies wait that long? Some prototypes just should be released. Sometimes I do not see a problem, not even economically.
answer
Andre Ruttert 2008-04-17 08:25
I think you are absolutely right about that. The recent designs of these supposedly exotic vehicles are rather lame. Sure they still use the good materials, but they seriously need a good car designer. For example, I personally don't like the look of the Ferrari Enzo. It's exotic alright, but it just looks a bit...ugly. People are paying tons on those nice cars, and it's probably time for those companies to use some of those money to hire some fresh and young dudes and dudettes because young people these days are really creative. :)
With the gas pricing rising again, average supercar (and even muscle cars)owners won't be able to afford riding them everyday at ease...LOL and yup, that Civic does look quite awesome! Have you ever seen that Saab Aero X? It's only a concept but it looks amazing!!
Ke Sun 2008-04-17 15:40
...
To me the Enzo also doesn't look good. There are better looking Ferraris. It is true what you say about the design. Why not trying something of the hook, somethign completely different. Like Lamborghini did with the Reventon. I doesn't look that different from other Lambos but it is definitely something new.
I think though, that gas prices don't matter to people who are rich. Why should they care? They have enough money for a supercar, then they have enough money for gas. Global warming or not.
I saw the Saab on detroit motor show 2007. It looks good and just think about the most surprising fact: it's a saab! :)

I once saw a show on German TV of a woman who wanted to own a Ferrari. The problwm was that she was a 'haircutter' which is a more low-income job in Germany. As far as I know! So she saved up her money for years to buy a used Ferrari. The TV team was with her when she got it.
So she drove it for the first time. Standing at a traffic light next to some guy, she wanted to show off and was unable to handle the car. She crushed into something on the pavement and was unable to pay the repair. So she had to wait for months until she was able to drive it again.
That is a good example that you should only buy expensive cars if you have the money. :D
