| Well, after a few weeks of warm, sunny weather the rain has returned but we do need it! I observed the sky and noticed the clouds starting to move in from the southwest as I walked to a class in Surrey. By evening it was well clouded over and had been raining some. Monday was a day of light rain for most of the day. The temperature was 15 degrees Celsius, humidity 88 percent, barometric pressure was 101.3 kPa and the wind was out of the east at 20 km/hour. This was a bit of a change from Sunday when the temperature was around 21 degrees with mostly sunny skies during the day. There are steadily warming temperatures called for as we get into the week along with some sunshine. |

During the summer of 2005 I sold my home in southwestern Ontario and went on a trip across Canada while I was deciding whether to remain in Ontario or move west to British Columbia. Well after the journey across the country and back (and plenty of photos) the move to BC won out. In February of 2006 I finally decided to make the move west. Health issues surfaced late in March and into April causing me to give up my new apartment and return to the hotel I had been staying at while I sorted out my health problems and looked for other accommodations without the same problems (allergens). It's been a year trying to sort it all out but my health is returning and I hope to return to work soon. I had better. The money is running out. Despite the health and the challenges, I have not been inactive. I've been busy taking plenty of photos (over 1500 on my HP Photosmart R717 digital camera) plus I've added a Sony DSLR A100 digital to that and have taken around 500 on that camera. The former is 6.2 megapixels and the latter is 10.2. So far it's been land and seascape photos plus images of animals, birds and other living creatures in nature. There are numerous shots of various flowering plants like, azaleas, magnolias, rhododendrons plus other flowers. It's been such a beautiful spring despite all the rain over the last two months. While I enjoy this hobby, something I've done since age nine, I am also trying to sell some photos. I have researched half a dozen companies that buy and sell stock images. Three companies are located in Seattle to the south and one of them is owned by Microsoft. It's an interesting prospect to sell photos that I enjoy taking anyways. The idea is to make additional cash but you never know where this might lead either. Have a look at my weblog at http://haliaeetus.blogspot.com to get a better idea. You've all heard the saying, "a picture is worth a thousand words?" For those that would like to leave a comment you can leave one on the blog or send me a private email. The email address is posted near the top right of the webpage. Just look for my profile. |
