Nice work with the amaryllis and with the pictures too. I could notice it is a talented family, the music composed by your father is so beautiful! Really nice of you sharing all that! :D
I remember him playing it in the 1940's/50's. I can't remember the name or title though. How this copy came about was that when I was in college doing a University degree in 1961 our college drama club entered into the tunbridge Wells Drama Festival, we performed one of my Father's own plays, a comedy called "Festival Committee". And I used Dad's music to play at the beginning and end of our production. Dad played it and I recorded it on a reel to reel tape. Many years later after his death in 1986, I was then Married to Dilys, and I "found" this tape, and played it to Dilys and her musically talented sons in 1993 0r 4. They then from a scratch old tape wrote down the music and I filmed Jonathan playing it on my video camera on a VHS tape! Last autumn I obtained a new vhs/DVD recorder and copied the video from VHS to DVD disc. I then copied that on to my computer and turned it into an MPEG video, which I then put in to Zorpia & Youtube. When I made this video of the Amaryllis I played that video and copied the sound !
Quite a story!
I want to get a Mpeg video of Jonathan playing that peiece without errors in sometime soon LOL
t is really a great luck it was not lost. It was a long way from this piece of music being written to my hearing it. When I come across things like that I wonder how many wonderful works have been lost in time. No wonder you are a talented man, it is in your blood! No need for thanks, I speak the truth! :D
Trying to catch up really... but i prioritize, so of course you jump on top of the list :)
Yes I am finally trying to settle in and organizing the pics. You can see some very few in my new album... of course more to come!
*hugs*
