This poem a is not based on my reality.
However, it does portray, as much as it is able, the suffering and confusion one feels when in an abusive relationship, or when being abused even by a stranger though, I imagine, it must feel worse when being abused by someone you know and, possibly, love.
A photograph can never reveal the emotions an abused person feels and neither can a pen write... but some of us make an attempt for the purpose of trying to imagine how a person may feel in a given set of circumstances because we empathize with you. ...
