当我写下这段文字时，我就猜想泰国朋友读了可能不高兴，但是我以为真正有点雅量的泰国朋友还是能够接受的，因为这确是事实，将其写出来，真有一种不吐不快的感觉。

“二十四桥明月在，玉人何处教吹萧。”扬州的美是精致而有些淡淡的忧伤的。虽然也有鉴真和尚、史可法等。
我是郴州人，已客居苏州几年了。去年的那场雪灾，全城成了孤城，很多 老弱的人得不到救治，因为医院也没水没电，且人满为患，虽这种状态很快改变，但病情有时是一刻不能耽搁的。全国各地的人都来支援了，也有扬州人。于是这座南方的小城被感动充溢着，每个人都好好面对生活。
相传舜帝教民耒耜于郴，郴州正式建制有二千多年历史。物产丰富，是有色金属之乡，有一百多种矿物深埋于地下，有的矿储量在世界都排名前列。农产品中的茶、笋、桔、橙、鸭等等，不一而足，都是别处吃不到的美味。郴州也是风景优美的旅游城市，有秦时的古驿道、有高山、湖泊、河流、草场、溶洞、原始森林，有丹霞地貌的国家地质公园，也有国际狩猎场。她的美就象养在深闺的女子。人文方面有写《爱莲说》的周敦颐的濂溪学院，秦观在这里曾写下著名的《踏莎行 郴州旅舍》、米芾的字刻于崖上，后有陶铸和的诗，称三绝碑。张学良被囚于此时曾写下“恨天低，大鹏有翅愁难展”。平时大家的生活很悠闲的，城市的定位是“粤港澳的后花园”。
