Humans are so hard to understand,
beauty must be pinned to a board,
wings captively open
to understand the desire to fly,
the shimmer of blue untamed,
and the pollinating of flowers
but have no desire to let beauty free.
We crack open the egg of history,
find crystals shimmering like liquid hunger,
meditate on the vibrations of light
reflecting here and back through time and space,
but on cutting our hands unexpectedly
we fling beauty as far from us as a dream
unopened and forgotten and lost from sight.
And if I would evolve would I carry on my arms
and hand and finger and knees all the beauty
I couldn't hold, replacing it if needed by new
as if each beauty didn't belong to the whole
and the hole in my soul still needed to bleed
and tame and conquer and pin freedom cold
sunken time of approaching ever older youth.
