Sunday,Dec 21 2008, 08:19:33 AMDEALING WITH THE DEATH OF MY DOG MOSS

on thursday i knew that something was not right. everytime i would try to help moss up so i could take her outside to go to the bathroom...when i would get her on her feet she would just slide back down so she was lying down again. by 7:30pm last night, she had already had 2 baths within about 12 hours because she she was getting so weak that she could not get up to go to the bathroom. moss's skin had litteraly turned the color of a piece of paper. right when mike got home, we knew what had to be done. we wrapped her in a blanket and took her to the vet......only to find out that she had extremly bad internal bleeding, her red blood cell count was so low she was barely breathing, and more than likely not very much oxygen was getting to her brain either. we then knew what we had to do--but needed to do for moss. she could hardly keep her eyes open as it was...so we stood there and pet her as they put her to sleep. right before her heart beat its last beat it made me feel good when i saw her start to smile again. she is probly chasing sheep now, or playing catch, maybe she and my dog holly that died 5 years ago are even playing together. wherever she is though, i know she is happy and feeling good. moss was a great dog. she was a fun dog...a happy dog, and a good dog. she lived to be 13 years old which to us is about 91. she had a long but very happy life and she will be missed tremindously...but life goes on and she will be seen again. R.I.P. MOSSY GIRL! damn, i got to go shed more teers now!
