• About me:I dreamt as a child, that one thing is sure,
  A pilot I'll be, when I'm more mature.
  
  A plane was always my favorite toy,
  But it's a lot bigger now, than the one I had as a boy.
  
  I wash it and wax it with pure delight,
  I can't find a chamois...must be time for a flight!
  
  I am a 'free spirit' and not chained to this earth,
  Because flying's a passion I've had since my birth.
  
  I belong up above, where the sky is so blue,
  If you felt like I feel, you'd want to be up there too!
  
  I can soar like an eagle, or fly like a dove,
  Only a few understand, this powerful love!
  
  I'm at home in the cockpit, it's like a dream come true,
  The more gages and switches, the more I like it too.
  
  No barrier will stop me, of that I'm quite sure,
  I will fight to the death for this love so pure.
  
  My spirits are high when I fly in the clouds,
  And with the engines purring, oh what a beautiful sound.
  
  A pilot I'll be, for tomorrow I may die,
  What is the purpose of life, if you don't want to fly?
  
  I plan all my flights, cause it could be my last,
  If I make an error, or run out of gas.
  
  I know of the risks, for me and the crew,
  If I challenge the weather, and try to get through.
  
  When I fly in the murk and then climb out of the clouds.
  The sight is so awesome, my heart it just pounds!
  
  From out of the gloom, the hustle and swirl,
  Welcome to, my "cotton wool" world!
  
  Some say it's dangerous, but I know what I've risked,
  But I feel sorry for those, who don't know what they have missed!
  
  To crash and burn is not in my plans,
  But I won't complain if it's out of my hands.
  
  When things go wrong as sometimes they do,
  I just go flying, and then I'm brand new.
  
  Your skill as a pilot, is always in doubt,
  For every bad landing will bear this out.
  
  A 'greaser' is heaven, that's what pilots say,
  And if your flying is 'rusty', it'll really save the day.
  
  Some ask us to choose, between 'a life' and flying,
  For me to give it up, would be surely like dying.
